This office represents parties to complicated business litigation matters. In a recent case we took testimony from four senior executives of an Italian company who spoke some English but wanted the assistance of a translator because they were under oath. Ms. Cinzia Gallia Schlicksup interpreted from/to Enlish and Italian, both questions and answers, when necessary, for all four full-day depositions.
Ms. Cinzia Gallia Schlicksup did a superb job and the witnesses and counsel on both sides were impressed with her ability to handle both English and Italian. There were certain written translations that were presented to the witnesses and, from time to time, the witnesses challenged the accuracy of those translations. Ms. Cinzia Gallia Schlicksup was able to point out any errors or ambiguities in those translations and pinpoint the actual meaning of the actual documents in Italian (Cinzia was not involved in the preparation of the written translations).
Trial for this complicated matter is scheduled for year end and we are likely to request Ms. Cinzia Gallia Schlicksup be present when the witnesses whose native language is Italian are scheduled to testify. She knows how to handle languages and people and translate in a fashion where the highly sophisticated, somewhat bilingual witnesses agreed with her English translation.
